Former United States star Landon Donovan has admitted he is a little apprehensive about Christian Pulisic going to Chelsea.

The American winger has completed his transfer from Borussia Dortmund, but stayed on loan at the German club for the rest of the season.

Pulisic has struggled for game time this season at Dortmund, but it did not stop Chelsea from splashing a major transfer fee on the 20-year-old.

He told ESPN: "Candidly, I am a little worried and I think American fans should be a little bit. I understand the situation at Dortmund now; they are not going to play a player who is leaving in six months.

"The beauty of the situation with Christian is that he, by all accounts and from what I have seen, has a really good head on his shoulders, likes to compete and is oozing with talent."
