Urawa Reds joined Kashima Antlers on top of the J.League table with a 1-0 win over Kyoto Sanga.
Brazilian striker Edmilson scored the only goal, in the eighth minute of the contest to give the Reds a vital three points.
The win was the Reds third on the trot and without having to worry about Asian Champions League this season, are in a great position for a tilt at the title.
