Wigan Athletic boss Steve Bruce felt his side were unfortunate to come away empty-handed from their 1-0 defeat at Arsenal. The Latics were impressive throughout the 90 minutes and set up a tense finale as they battled for a late leveller.
Bruce told Sky Sports: "All credit to my side. I know we had a bit of luck last week (against West Brom) but we had none today.
"The pleasing thing is the way we have gone about the game until the end. They never give up. For that, for their effort and endeavour, they deserved to get something out of the game.
"We took them all the way but did not quite have that break that Arsenal had in the first half.
"We always looked a threat and kept catching them on the counter-attack. We had five or six half-chances and we just needed to be a bit more clinical."
