Union Berlin are delighted with their deal for Liverpool striker Taiwo Awoniyi.

After last season's successful loan, Union have signed Awoniyi outright this week.

Union sports director Oliver Ruhnert told Kicker: "We do not usually sign players who cost €7.5m.

"He enough other options, not least from the Bundesliga..."

However in the end Awoniyi agreed a return to Union.
