Arsenal are wrapping up a deal for Real Madrid midfielder Martin Odegaard today.
El Confidencial says Arsenal's technical director Edu Gaspar has played a key role in making the transfer possible.
The Gunners will pay the full amount of Odegaard's Madrid wages during his time in North London, but the player earns a relatively modest £38,000-per-week - a salary Arsenal will have no problem in being able to afford.
And they will pay a loan fee of just £2m to the La Liga giants, meaning they have very little to lose even if Odegaard does not live up to expectations.
It is not believed that there is any clause which would allow Arsenal to sign Odegaard permanently in the summer.
