Unai Emery's Villarreal highest scoring in club history

Villarreal coach Unai Emery's team are already the highest-scoring side in history.

After the impressive 5-1 thrashing over RCD Espanyol, the 'groguet' side have now scored a total of 47 goals in the first 26 LaLiga games. An average of 1.80 goals per game.

With this record, the team coached by Emery equals Villarreal of the 2013-14 campaign, who at this stage of the season had scored the same number of goals. However, that side conceded a total of 31 goals, six more than the current Submarine (25 goals conceded).

The goal difference of the current Villarreal team is clearly superior to that of all previous seasons.

With 47 goals scored and only 25 conceded, the Submarine have a positive goal difference of 22 goals. Up to this point, the best goal difference after 26 games was held by Villarreal in the 2004-05, 2010-11 and 2016-17 seasons. In all three seasons, the goal difference was +19.
