Japan international right-back Atsuto Uchida has extended his contract with German outfit Schalke, reports the Official AFC website. The 24-year-old has extended his deal with the 2011 DFB Cup and DFL Super Cup winners until the summer of 2015.
Uchida has started all three of Japan's matches in the final round of qualifiers for the 2014 FIFA World Cup helping the Samurai Blue to the top of Group B.
Japan are next in Brazil 2014 qualifying action on September 7 when they face 2007 AFC Asian Cup winners Iraq in Saitama.
