Two-goal Aguero delighted as Man City cruise at Bournemouth

Sergio Aguero struck twice as Manchester City won 3-1 at Bournemouth on Sunday.

City quickly established control, with Argentina forward Aguero turning Kevin De Bruyne's cross into the bottom left corner from eight yards.

And Raheem Sterling doubled their advantage with his fifth goal in as many matches, flicking a shot beyond Cherries keeper Aaron Ramsdale after a fine David Silva pass.

While Bournemouth substitute Harry Wilson's superb 25-yard free-kick briefly raised hopes of a fight-back, Aguero pounced for City's third after more good work from Silva.

The 31-year-old emphatically finished from 10 yards to record his 400th career goal.

Aguero stated at the final whistle: "It was difficult but we knew we had to win. I am happy because this pitch is hard but we are happy we got the win."

On getting 400 career goals, he added: "All the goals are important, I do not have a favourite. 400 goals – wow I did not know that. The goals are always important, you need them to win."
