Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has made it clear to his top brass that he wants to see Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang signed.

Chelsea are in contact with Barcelona for the veteran striker, who only moved to Spain in January from Arsenal.

The Daily Mail says talks between Chelsea and Barcelona have begun and will continue over the next 48 hours, with the Premier League club prepared to make a formal bid.

Aubameyang played under Tuchel at Borussia Dortmund for two seasons.

Tuchel is in desperate need for a new striker signing after Romelu Lukaku returned on-loan to Inter Milan and Timo Werner being sold to RB Leipzig.

However, Aubameyang is not pushing to leave, having impressed since joining from the Emirates in January.
