Tuchel ready to battle Chelsea chiefs over Valencia Chalobah push

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel is ready to battle club chiefs over the future of Trevoh Chalobah.

The midfielder is a top loan target for Valencia after last season's success with Lorient.

Goal says Tuchel is considering moving Chalobah from the club's loan group and into the first-team squad, which would make him unavailable to leave.

Chalobah has spent the previous three seasons on loan, although a move to Valencia would be his first spell in Spain.

He spent his first two temporary stints in the Championship, making 43 appearances for Ipswich Town in 2018-19 before playing 36 times for Huddersfield in 2019-20.

The 22 year-old played the second half of Chelsea's 2-1 win at Bournemouth and 86 minutes in their win by the same scoreline against Arsenal.

He then featured for 80 minutes as Chelsea defeated Tottenham last Wednesday and played well in a right-sided centre-back role.
