Tuchel delivers blunt response when asked what he wants from next Chelsea owner

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel did not mince words when asked about his desire from the next club owner.

The Blues are in the middle of takeover negotiations, with owner Roman Abramovich listening to offers from several consortiums from around the world.

While Tuchel has no idea who will be the man at the helm at Chelsea next term, he does have some hopes of what the next owner will offer the playing squad.

He stated in a press conference: "A strong squad and confidence and support."

Asked about the team's loss against Brentford in the Premier League at the weekend, ahead of their Champions League quarter-final first leg against Real Madrid on Wednesday, Tuchel added: "We had a day off, which was maybe necessary to digest it. We talked about it, but no special talks, no special team talk.

"We talked openly about it in a debrief, which is very usual for us.

"We set new targets which is what you do in sport no matter whether you win or lose. It was a crucial loss and we absolutely didn't like what happened. We consider this the exception to the rule. We allowed ourselves on Monday to focus on the match tomorrow because it's what's needed."
