Former Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel had a disagreement with owners Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali regarding signings.
Tuchel felt the club did not need to splash the cash on a midfielder in the transfer window.
The German eventually lost his job, being replaced by ex-Brighton coach Graham Potter.
Per The Times, Boehly and Eghbali wanted to discuss transfers with Tuchel regularly.
However, they did not always agree on those matters, which resulted in a strained relationship.
Tuchel wanted to improve the defense, rather than signing a central midfielder.
