Troy Parrott casts doubt on Tottenham future

Troy Parrott admits it's been a battle trying to make it at Tottenham.

The Republic of Ireland international joined MK Dons on loan back in July, his third temporary move away in under two years after spells at Ipswich Town and Millwall.

Still only 20, it has been two-and-a-half-years since the striker made his first-team debut for Spurs, adding to his appearance tally only three times since, last appearing for the club he joined at the age of 15 in March 2020.

Speaking ahead of Ireland's friendly with Belgium on Saturday in Dublin, Parrot revealed he believed he “needed to do more" after his lack of game time with Spurs.

"It came at a time when I was in and out of the team and I just realised that ultimately you get one shot at this football game and where I was at the time wasn't helping me get to where I wanted to get to," he said.

“I realised I just needed to do more. I needed to be playing if I wanted to get to where I wanted to get to."
