Atletico Madrid fullback Kieran Trippier says Tottenham's players rated Chelsea as a bigger local rival than Arsenal.
Tripper made the claim when asked about the Madrid derby against Real Madrid.
"It's so big out here the Madrid derby," the former Burnley defender told The Beautiful Game podcast.
"Even when I was playing for Tottenham, I felt - no disrespect to Arsenal - but I didn't feel like it was our main derby."
Trippier went on to say that he and many of his fellow Tottenham players felt that Chelsea were their big rivals.
"I felt it was Chelsea. I just felt like the emotion probably," the 29-year-old said.
"Don't get me wrong, Tottenham vs Arsenal is huge to the fans because it is what it is with them.
"As a player, for me and certainly for a few other players, the Chelsea game was a bigger game for them."
