TRIBAL TRENDS - TRANSFERS: Van Dijk to Liverpool? Lukaku wants Chelsea move? Navas to leave Real Madrid?

With the amount of rumours swirling around at this time of year, even after the winter transfer window, it is sometimes difficult to decipher the truth.

These are matters of importance.

As the transfer talk is now directed at the all-important summer market, there are enormous amounts of speculation swirling around Europe and the UK.

Not to worry however, because here at Tribalfootball, we have broken down the week's hottest transfer rumours, and inform you whether you should believe the paper talk or not.

Here are our top five trending transfer stories for the past week:

Virgil Van Dijk Southampton

Clubs Interested:Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal

Virgil Van Dijk has been extremely prominent in the paper talk over the last few weeks.

The Dutchman has undoubtedly grown into an even better player since moving to Southampton from Celtic in 2015.

Poise, brawn and skill are all qualities that Van Dijk possesses, so it is hardly surprising that the Premier League giants are onto him.

The latest speculation to come out of England revolves around an innocuous tweet sent out by Liverpool player Georginio Wijnaldum.

The Liverpool Echo reports that Van Dijk liked the tweet, which read: "HUGE 3 Points!! Top 4 finish is in our hands! Unbelievable support as always."

There is a big possibility that Van Dijk will indeed leave St. Mary's this summer. If Liverpool win this weekend and secure Champions League qualification, the race for the 25-year old's signature will be cut to two.

Likelihood: Need more than a tweet!

Gareth Bale Real Madrid

Clubs Interested: Manchester United

Gareth Bale has decided he wants to play with Jose Mourinho and Manchester United.

According to Spanish journalist Pipi Estrada via Jugones' Chiringuito: "The agent of the player (Bale) has started to negotiate in England - after becoming angry with the reactions to his injury."

And Estrada goes further, suggesting Bale has already informed Perez which club he wants to be sold to: "He wants Jose Mourinho and Manchester United".

Real are said to be frustrated having their most expensive player spending most of the season on the bench.

Bale has only made 26 appearances in all competitions this season and his injuries vary throughout.

It goes without saying that there could some validity in Real's frustration. The Welshmen became the world's most expensive player when Los Blancos signed him from Tottenham in 2013.

Despite showing moments of glory, including his wonder goal to win the Copa Del Rey against Barcelona, Bale has failed to settle into the Madrid football cauldron.

Likelihood: If they can agree terms, it could happen

Romelu Lukaku Everton

Clubs Interested: Manchester United, Chelsea

According to The Sunday World, Romelu Lukaku has informed his agent Mino Raiola that he wants to sign with Chelsea, and not Manchester United.

Reports have linked the Belgian international with an exit from Everton ever since the striker conceded he did not want to extend his current contract beyond 2018.

Lukaku currently sits second on the Premier League Golden Boot standings with 24 goals, and his exploits in front of goal have caught the eye of United and his former club, Chelsea.

The reason Chelsea is his former club is because current United boss Jose Mourinho sold him to Everton when he was in charge of the Blues in 2014.

This fact is said to be the reason behind Lukaku's reluctance in joining the Red Devils. The pair did not enjoy a positive relationship, and Mourinho made it known when he sold him to Goodison Park for £28m.

Instead, the report suggests Lukaku has his heart set on a reunion with Chelsea.

Ronald Koeman has publicly stated he will sell his players if they do not agree to a contract extension, and Lukaku has publicly stated that he won't be doing that, so there's seems to be only one logical conclusion to this one.

Likelihood: Not if but where?

Hector BellerinArsenal

Clubs Interested: Barcelona

The Hector Bellerin saga continues.

Last week Barcelona had reportedly offered Arsenal one of three players to swap with Gunners fullback Hector Bellerin.

Now, Don Balonreports Arsenal have agreed to a swap deal – with one condition.

The Gunners want two players they have specified in the deal. These two players are Arda Turan and Marc Cucarella.

The report suggests Barcelona are open to moving Turan but a more reluctant on Cucarella – who is eyed as a "jewel of La Masia"

It will be interesting too see whether each side can come to a compromise on what it seems to be a protracted deal.

Likelihood: Not this time

Keylor Navas: Real Madrid

Clubs Interested: Free agent

According to Don Balon, Keylor Navas has informed his Real teammates that he will be leaving the club in the summer.

The Chilean is said to be unhappy with the constant rumours linking David De Gea to the Bernabeu and wants to find a new home.

The report suggests Real are happy to let Navas walk on a free transfer at the end of the season

Given the constant and persistent rumours linking De Gea to replacing him as Real's number 1 keeper, it's hardly a surprise that Navas would be frustrated.

If De Gea does leave United for Real, be sure that Navas will be already out the door before he gets there.

Likelihood: Certainty – if De Gea moves to Madrid
