TRIBAL SPECIAL: See who made our 2017/18 Premier League Team of the Season

Although the major Premier League awards were already revealed last month, including who won the Player of the Award and who was nominated for the Team of the Season, it's time to look at who deserved a place in our 2017-18 Premier League XI. The side is placed within a 4-3-3 system, with players playing in their natural positions.

With no further ado, here is Tribal's 2017/18 Premier League Team of the Season…

Goalkeeper – David De Gea (Manchester United)

If it wasn't for David De Gea's incredible performances from the start of the campaign up until now, Jose Mourinho's Manchester United would currently be outside of the top-four and not comfortably in second place. Having won the club's Player of the Year award for three years running, it's more than clear that the Spaniard is the best goalkeeper within the league and the whole of Europe.

Right-back – Kyle Walker (Manchester City)

The right-back position does not really have many ideal candidates to choose from, however, Kyle Walker has been consistent and dominant for Manchester City on a weekly basis. Since moving from Tottenham to the Ethiad Stadium last summer, he has gone on to show his quality on both sides of the pitch, which he offers through his burst of pace as well as his movement on and off the ball.

Centre-back – Jan Vertonghen (Tottenham Hotspur)

When looking at the best centre-backs within the league, Premier League supporters look at the likes Nicolas Otamendi, Toby Alderweireld or Virgil Van Dijk. On the other hand, a certain individual called Jan Vertonghen is left behind, someone who was once seen as an unintelligent player and as a weak link in defence but is now regarded as Tottenham's best centre-back and most complete defender.

Centre-back – James Tarkowski (Burnley)

One of the key cogs behind Sean Dyche's perfect campaign at Burnley this season has been due to the immense work rate and pure commitment of James Tarkowski. As well as showing his composure on and off the ball, the 25-year-old Englishman's incredible interceptions and well-timed tackles have allowed the Clarets to be recognised as a hard side to get past, especially in the tough fixtures away at Turf Moor.

Left-back – Ben Davies (Tottenham Hotspur)

When Ben Davies completed his move from Swansea City to Tottenham Hotspur in 2014, many people thought he made the wrong decision as his chances of becoming a regular starter ahead of Danny Rose were very slim. However, two to three years on, the youngster who was slated by many of his critics and doubters have now been silenced as he has consistently performed well within the left-back position in all competition.

Centre-midfield – David Silva (Manchester City)

Showing that he is one of the most complete midfielders in the Premier League, David Silva continues to show his brilliance from a deeper role than usual within Pep Guardiola's system. Some had felt that the Spanish magician would not be in the manager's key plans for this season, though, he has adjusted well into a new position where he has simply become the heartbeat of the team.

Centre-midfield – N'Golo Kante (Chelsea)

Despite the fact that Chelsea are having a poor campaign under Antonio Conte as they currently sit in fifth place, it does not stop defensive-midfielder N'Golo Kante from being mentioned in the Team of the Season. If it wasn't for the consistent showing in front of the defence from the former Leicester City man, the Blues would be closer to the likes of Arsenal and Burnley within the league.

Centre-midfield – Kevin De Bruyne (Manchester City)

Manchester City's Kevin De Bruyne has overtaken the likes of Christian Eriksen, Juan Mata and Mesut Ozil as the best playmaker there is in England. With his side somehow managing to complete 105 league goals in 37 games, the Belgian's contributions in the final third of the pitch have evidently been the main factor to why the Citizens have been very clinical and ruthless in front of goal.

Right-wing – Mohamed Salah (Liverpool)

Despite Liverpool's priority being the Champions League and not the Premier League over the last month or so, you cannot hide the fact that Mohamed Salah is having a world-class season as he has been heavily relied on since the start of the 2017/18 campaign. Notching 42 goals and 13 assists in all competition, he has easily become Liverpool's main man since joining the club in the summer.

Left-wing – Leroy Sane (Manchester City)

Arguably the best winger in the league when he is at his best, Leroy Sane is on the form of his life as he regularly continues to tear the fullbacks and the opposition apart. In his second season in England and at Manchester City, the German international has managed to hit double figures in goals (10) and assists (15), clearly proving he has all the attributes and tools that you want from a winger.

Centre-forward – Sergio Aguero (Manchester City)

As expected for the centre-forward role, there would be a lot of competition as well as a huge debate on who should be given this spot. Although most people would have picked either Harry Kane or Roberto Firmino, Sergio Aguero's goals and assists have proven to be more than vital for Guardiola's Man City as he has come up with the goods for when his side needed him the most.
