Tranmere Rovers striker Jack Dunn up for 'special' Liverpool friendly clash

Tranmere Rovers striker Jack Dunn is looking forward to facing former club Liverpool tonight.

Dunn signed a one-year deal with Tranmere after his release by the Reds last month.

"He's relishing the prospect of lining up for Tranmere against Jurgen Klopp's star-studded line up in the first friendly of the summer.

“I've only ever pictured myself played for Liverpool so it will feel a bit strange playing against them," he told the Liverpool Echo.

“It's down to me to show Liverpool what a good player I am.

“I've been back in pre-season with Tranmere for nearly two weeks now. It's been hard work with triple sessions but we're feeling really fit and it will be good to get the games going.

“I really hope Liverpool put out the strongest side they've got. You want to test yourself against the best players.

“I'm really optimistic about Liverpool this season. They've made a couple of very good signings and I hope they win the league.

“Hopefully I'll be back at Liverpool one day. To return there and play in front of the supporters there would be very special.

“I've loved Liverpool since I was a little kid and wherever I'm playing my football that won't stop."
