Tranmere Rovers owner Palios delighted with Liverpool relationship

Tranmere Rovers owner Mark Palios is counting on a big gate for next Wednesday's preseason friendly against Liverpool.

Wednesday's game is another indication of the strong relationship between Liverpool and Rovers, with the Reds' U23s again set to use Prenton Park for the majority of their home games this season.

Palios said: “Liverpool did it last year and they brought their first team squad and their new signings subject to the ones who were out on international duty because of the Euros so again we expect them to bring 30 players including new signings, though that's a decision for Jurgen Klopp not for us.

Liverpool have been very good to us, as a club they've supported us quite a lot over the last two years.

“And this pre-season friendly is massively important to us from a revenue perspective.

“Last year we had more than 13,000 fans in attendance. For us last year was a good game, we performed well and we went into the season and won the first five games on the back of it.

“For us, having games like this and the quality that Liverpool bring is a stiff test but we want to put up a good show."
