Townsend tells Spurs pals: Forget derby history

Tottenham winger Andros Townsend insists recent history counts for zero going to Arsenal today.

Spurs have won only twice in the last 21 years at the home of their fiercest rivals - the last being a 3-2 win in November 2010 when Gareth Bale, Rafael van der Vaart and Younes Kaboul scored the goals to seal a remarkable comeback from 2-0 down for Harry Redknapp's side.

"I'm not too sure why we've historically struggled there but I know, even though we've not been in the best form of late, that all the boys are confident," Townsend told the London Evening Standard. "We're a confident group so we're not going to be going there thinking we've not won in four years. We're going to go there with confidence sky high and knowing, believing, that we can get a result if we're playing well."
