Kolo Toure claims he knew about a potential switch to Manchester City six months ago. Toure signed a four-year contract with City on Wednesday, but he has revealed that he was first aware of interest around the time of last winter's transfer window.

There has been speculation that the 28-year-old has moved to Eastlands in order to join fellow ex-Gunner Emmanuel Adebayor.

But Toure insists that is not the case, telling Sky Sports News: "I think before Adebayor we knew.

"There was some talk about coming here. It's from six months ago."
