AS Roma director Francesco Totti admits he's tried to bring stars to the club.

Totti believes the Giallorosso need to find big names to compete for trophies.

"I have always said that the champions are needed to win, I was hoping (Cristiano) Ronaldo, (Zlatan) Ibrahimovic, the strongest in the world, not just in attack but also defenders or midfielders," he said.

"But we had a limit, the few economic opportunities to spend for these champions.

"I really tried to bring people unthinkable to Roma."
