Tottenham youngster Carter-Vickers using pre-season to enter Poch's plans

Youngster Cameron Carter-Vickers is hopeful of using the pre-season in order to impress Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino.

The 19-year old is one of the many young players in the Tottenham side who is on the fringes of earning regular first team football with Spurs and he had been named in the match day squad on many occasions by manager Mauricio Pochettino last season.

The USA youth international said: "Pre-season is always tough – it's a lot of gym sessions, a lot of running and just trying to get back into the groove of things.

"Obviously I was with the first team last year for pre-season so this year I came in kind of prepared for what was going to get thrown at us. It is tough, but we work hard pretty much all season round, so you get used to it and you know what to expect.

"For me, it's all about working as hard as I can, trying to get fit – that's the main thing – then push on, try to impress the manager, try to get some game time in pre-season and see what happens after that."
