Tottenham winger Gareth Bale remains open to returning to Real Madrid next summer.
It had been suggested Bale was eager to cut all ties with his parent club, despite his contract running through to 2022.
However, AS says Bale has let it be known he'd be open to returning to Madrid at the end of this season's loan with Spurs - particularly if coach Zinedine Zidane is no longer there.
The key to Bale's thinking is his Madrid contract, which is worth €30m-a-year - of which Spurs are currently paying 50 per cent.
For their part, Spurs may be rethinking extending Bale's loan into a second season after his minimal impact since his return. He has managed to feature in just nine of Tottenham's 22 games so far this term.
