Tottenham Hotspur could make a move for Lyon forward Moussa Dembele.

The news comes after star striker Harry Kane was ruled out of action until April with a hamstring injury.

Dembele has been a target for Chelsea this month.

Lyon released a statement on the rumours on January 2, which read: "L'Olympique Lyonnais are aware of certain reports in the media which suggest that Moussa Dembele could be of interest to other clubs during this transfer period.

"L'OL would like to reaffirm their wish, just as in the 2019 summer window, to keep Moussa Dembele. The club has total confidence in Moussa and counts on him to form part of a competitive team for seasons to come."

But Goal says Spurs will pursue talks with the Ligue 1 over the Frenchman.

Dembele is Ligue 1's top goalscorer this season with 10.
