Tottenham are watching Rennes defender Jean-Armel Kana-Biyik.

Spurs boss Harry Redknapp has been active in the French transfer market this season and chief scout Ian Broomfield has made regular checks on Kana-Biyik, 22.

While he's pledged his international future to Cameroon, Kana-Biyik is French-born and has been capped at U21 level by France.

The 6ft centre-half came through the much-vaunted youth system of Le Havre before signing a four-year deal with Rennes in 2010.
