Tottenham Hotspur inflicted a heavy 4-1 defeat on Manchester City at White Hart Lane on Saturday.
Kevin De Bruyne scored his third goal in his past three appearances for City when expertly slotting home Yaya Toure's through ball in the 25th minute, though there was a hint of offside, before Spurs controversially hit back on the stroke of half-time when Eric Dier fired home from range after Kyle Walker was clearly offside in the build-up.
However, Spurs kicked on and went ahead five minutes into the second half when Toby Alderweireld rose above his marker to head home Erik Lamela's inswinging free-kick from the right flank, leaving Willy Caballero stranded, before Harry Kane opened his account this season when side-footing home the rebound from Christian Eriksen's free-kick.
With just over 10 minutes remaining, Mauricio Pochettino's side saw off Manuel Pellegrini's men when Lamela, who had impressed throughout, controlled a cross from substitute Clinton N'Jie to round Caballero and fire home.
The win has Spurs sitting fifth on the league table with three victories on the trot as City lost for the second match in a row to fall from first to second.

QUOTES CORNER
Tottenham's Pochettino on staying relaxed despite such a win:
"We need to keep calm, like the shirt. In Spain, a lot of the kids have 'keep calm', 'keep calm' on their t-shirts.
"We have a long way ahead. We are very young and sometimes we can confuse quick."
Man City boss Pellegrini on the nature of his side's defeat:
"Really, Tottenham only had one shot on our goal in the first 40 minutes and after that they scored that clear offside goal.
"After that they played very well, we looked very bad."
