Tottenham are moving for Valencia goalkeeper Diego Alves.

Marca says Mauricio Pochettino has targeted the experienced Brazilian as cover for Hugo Lloris.

Pochettino apparently wants Alves to become to club's new back-up despite also chasing a deal for youngster Pau Lopez.

Tottenham were confident of securing a loan deal for the Espanyol ace, but are worried the deal could fall through as the clock ticks down on deadline day.

And Pochettino is reportedly taking no chances in his chase for a new shot-stopper, with Valencia said to be open to a deal.
