Tottenham threaten Forest plans for Middlesbrough defender Djed Spence

Tottenham remain in mix to sign Middlesbrough defender Djed Spence.

Football.London says Spurs manager Antonio Conte is hoping to strike a deal for Middlesborough full-back Djed Spence, who has also previously been linked to Arsenal.

Boro are rumoured to be ready to sell Spence this summer, with an expected fee of more than £15m effectively set to fund the club's own recruitment drive.

The right-back was in excellent form for Nottingham Forest last season, playing a crucial role in the East Midland side's promotion to the Premier League and manager Steve Cooper is hopeful of securing the services of the 21-year-old on a permanent deal.

There is the expectation that the defender's future will become much clearer in the coming days.
