Tottenham have been dealt a blow in their pursuit of Inter Milan defender Alessandro Bastoni.
Inter chief Guiseppe Marotta confirmed this week that the club might have to sell either Bastoni or Milan Skriniar to balance their finances.
The comments encouraged Spurs as they had listed Bastoni as their new one centre-back target.
However, the Italy international's agent has confirmed they are looking to sign a contract extension with Inter once he returns from holiday.
"Bastoni is on holiday," Tullio Tinti said.
"He is staying, we respect the contract. We will do the renewal as soon as Inter call us."
