Tottenham striker Parrott hopes to follow Kane with successful Millwall spell

Tottenham striker Troy Parrott wants to follow in Harry Kane's footsteps by enjoying a successful loan spell at Millwall.

Kane spent half a season at Millwall in 2012, scoring seven goals in 22 appearances and winning the Young Player of the Season award at the south-London club.

18-year-old Parrott featured only four times under Jose Mourinho this season and now hopes he can catapult his career with a good season at The Den.

"Hopefully I have a good experience and follow in the footsteps he [Kane] did – going back and playing in the Premier League," he said. "Hopefully I can really buy into it for the season I'm here.

"I spoke to [manager] Gary [Rowett] and straight away I felt I had a good connection with him. I feel like I'm going to enjoy the way he plays and coaches. Just missing out on the play-offs, it shows how good the team is.

"Hopefully I can help us push for the play-offs, or even promotion."
