Tottenham striker Keane rules out long-term Celtic stay

Tottenham striker Robbie Keane has ruled out a long-term stay with Celtic.

Keane will only be at Celtic until the end of the season after revealing he will return to White Hart Lane in the summer.

The 29-year-old said: "I'm here until the end of the season and that's as far as it goes at the moment. I will be going back to Spurs.

"But while I'm here I want to help the club progress and win things. There is great appeal in playing for a team like Celtic. Roy Keane always wanted to do it and came here in 2006.

"I'm here and at the peak of my career. A few Celtic legends have worn the No.7 jersey and I'm pleased to be wearing it.

"But you have to remember they wore that jersey for a few years to achieve hat status - I'm only here for a few months. What I'm concentrating on is trying to bring success to Celtic this season.

"New players normally take time to gel but we don't have time on our side. The sooner we go on a run of wins the better.

"There is a huge level of expectation and we need to do our best to deliver. I think I can help on the park and in the dressing-room."
