Tottenham striker Heung-min Son awarded Cheongnyong medal

Tottenham striker Heung-min Son has been honoured with South Korea's highest sporting honor after becoming the first Asian player to win the Premier League Golden Boot.

The 29-year-old received the Cheongnyong medal from President Yoon Seok-yeol ahead of South Korea's friendly match against Brazil at Seoul Stadium.

Previous medal winners include two-time Olympic figure skating champion Kim Yong Ah and golfer Park Seri.

Son and Liverpool striker Mohammed Salah shared the Golden Boot, which is awarded to the top scorer in the English Premier League at the end of the season.

Both players had scored 23 goals.
