Tottenham striker Heung-min Son has apologised to South Korea fans after their World Cup defeat to Brazil.

South Korea lost their round of 16 clash 4-1 last night.

Son said, "We did our best, but it was an extremely difficult battle. All the players fought a fierce match to reach this far in the tournament.

"I have no doubt at all about everyone's dedication and sacrifices at this final round.

"I can only apologise to our fans for not living up to their expectations, but I hope they understand the situation.

"Everyone on the team did their best to prepare for this match."
