Tottenham striker Harry Kane was cleared to resume his World Cup following a scan to his right ankle.
Tests on Wednesday showed that England captain Kane - whose recovery has been assisted here in Qatar by long-term personal physio Dr. Alejandro Elorriaga Claraco - has escaped serious damage to the joint and been cleared to train.
Coach Gareth Southgate must now decide whether to include Kane in the starting XI for Friday's game versus USA at the Al Bayt Stadium but he is in line to be available.
Kane's ankle will be heavily strapped as a precaution over the coming days, but provided he does not suffer any adverse reaction in the next 24 hours he should be ready for England's second group game.
