Tottenham striker Jermain Defoe was happy to deliver for England supporters after last night's win over Slovenia.

He was thrilled for the 30,000 England fans at the match.

Defoe said: "It's been difficult for the supporters. They weren't happy with the previous performances but they were fantastic tonight.

"The belief has always been there, although you know at this level it's always going to be difficult.

"Look at the other games, the top teams have struggled.

"So it's important to keep the spirit, which we have done - and that showed through today."
