Tottenham rivaled Arsenal for Real Madrid attacker Marco Asensio last summer.

Arsenal and AC Milan had offers confirmed this week for Asensio - both of which were accepted by Real Madrid, only for the player to insist on staying.

Last night, El Larguero reported Spurs also made an attempt for the Spain international.

It's suggested Tottenham offered €39m for the midfielder.
