Tottenham refusing to meet Atalanta demands for Romero

Tottenham are continuing to engage in talks with Italian outfit Atalanta over Cristian Romero.

The centre-back is a high priority for Spurs this summer, especially after the departure of Toby Alderweireld to Al-Duhail in Qatar.

The long serving Belgian has now left the London club, which means there is a significant hole in the centre of their back line.

The Guardian reports that Atalanta want roughly £47 million for Romero.

Spurs are not prepared to go that high for the 23-year-old, which means they could pursue alternatives in the form of Takehiro Tomiyasu, Kurt Zouma or Nikola Milenkovic.
