Tottenham have received a Champions League boost for next season.
Spurs are set to be seeded in their Champions League qualifying round which means they will avoid most of Europe's top teams.
The success of English clubs in Europe's premier competition over the past five years has helped Spurs own status. They are likely to miss being paired with Werder Bremen, Sevilla, Ajax, Lyon and Zenit St Petersburg, all of whom look set to secure a qualifying round spot.
While Spurs could meet the team that finishes fourth in Italy - at the moment Sampdoria - their place among the seeded teams will be good news for Harry Redknapp as he plans the club's first assault on the Champions League.
