Tottenham are ready to bid for Everton midfielder Andre Gomes.

The Telegraph says Spurs are hoping to hijack Everton's £30million move for midfielder Gomes.

The Portuguese has been in impressive form since making a season-long loan move to Goodison Park from Barcelona, and the Toffees are intent on signing him on a permanent deal.

However, Tottenham have monitored the 25 year-old since January 2018 and plan to make a bid in the summer.

It is understood Spurs chief scout Steve Hitchen was sent by Mauricio Pochettino to watch Gomes in the Merseyside derby in December, although the midfielder only came on as a 76th-minute substitute.
