Tottenham have approached Liverpool regarding a summer move for centre-back Mamadou Sakho, according to a report from website Vital Spurs.

The French defender finds himself out-of-favour at the Merseyside club and he is expected to leave the club this summer.

He spent the second half of last season on loan with Crystal Palace, and he was initially a target for the Eagles too.

However, the South London have dropped their interest in the 27-year-old owing to his £30m valuation.
