Tottenham provide shopping experience for Chinese fans

Tottenham Hotspur have launched ecommerce stores on shopping platforms in China ahead of their pre-season trip to the country, reports www.sportspromedia.com/.

Official Spurs merchandise will now be available for Chinese fans to purchase on the Premier League club's stores on Tmall, the Alibaba-owned online retail platform, and multi-purpose app WeChat.

Among the first items to be included on the new platforms will be exclusive products related to Tottenham's summer tour, which will also be available at selected merchandise booths when Spurs take on Manchester United on 25th July in Shanghai as part of the International Champions Cup (ICC) annual tournament.

Victoria Hawksley, Tottenham's head of retail, said: "This is an exciting development for the club and our ever-growing fanbase in China. Launching our first e-commerce store gives our dedicated fans the chance to feel even closer to the club and proudly show their support for the team."

Spurs have been expanding their digital presence in China over the past 12 months, during which time they have surpassed two million followers on social media site Weibo. They also became the first Premier League side to launch on short-form video platform Douyin back in December last year.
