Tottenham are weighing up a move for Atletico Madrid winger Thomas Lemar.
Foot Mercato says Lemar and Atletico are prepared to split this month - though the club's determination to rake in the €72m they paid to AS Monaco 18 months ago for him is proving difficult.
Spurs are in contact - but have no interest in matching Atletico's valuation. Instead, they're seeking an initial six-month loan arrangement with a permanent option for June.
For his part, Lemar is open to a move to London and the chance to work with manager Jose Mourinho.
And significantly, Atletico know they need to make room on their wage-bill to assist with their own market plans.
