Tottenham are chasing Valencia defender Jeremy Mathieu.
The Daily Star says sources close to Mathieu insist he is top of the north London club's summer wish list.
The 30-year-old France international is a centre-half who can also play at left back and Spurs have had him watched in La Liga several times this season.
Mathieu is under contract until 2017 and his buy-out clause is believed to be around £17m, although Spurs chairman Daniel Levy feels a deal can be done for less than that.
