Tottenham have made a move for Barcelona attacker Malcom.

Sport says Spurs have opened formal talks with Barca for the Brazilian, who only moved from Bordeaux a year ago for €41m.

Barca are now willing to sell - with Spurs prepared to go as high as €40m for the midfielder.

Tottenham's move for Malcom appears to put an end to talk of a celebrated return Gareth Bale from Real Madrid.

Negotiations are now well underway between the two clubs, with all parties confident of reaching a deal.
