Tottenham are ready to pounce for Newcastle United striker Loic Remy.
The Sunday Express says Spurs are hoping to beat North London rivals Arsenal to the capture of the 27-year-old who has made a big impression on Tyneside after QPR agreed to let him move to the North East on a temporary deal.
Newcastle appear to be out of the running when it comes to hammering out a permanent transfer.
They are aware the player fancies a return to London and a fee in the region of £16 million could prove too expensive.
