Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Oliver Skipp can see a clear pathway from the England U21s to Gareth Southgate's senior side.
Skipp, currently impressing on loan at Norwich City, will line-up for Aidy Boothroyd's side in the U21 European Championships this week.
"There's a clear pathway from the 21s into the first team," Skipp said. "I feel like if I continue to put in the performances then there is always the possibility.
"But I need to finish this season strongly and then look forward after this tournament is finished. It's not a topic for this season at this moment but hopefully in a few months time we can be talking about it."
The Young Lions will play Switzerland, Portugal and Croatia in the space of six days to complete the group stage part of the tournament.
The knockout rounds will be played in the summer.
