Tottenham midfielder Eric Dier is facing a heavy fine and long ban after jumping into the stands and confronting his own fans last night.
Shortly Norwich City won their FA Cup shootout, Dier jumped over a barrier and raced up the stands, with footage showing a supporter getting involved in a spat with his brother, Patrick
The England international was seen angrily shouting towards someone in the crowd while as many as 10 members of the public held him back.
The Mirror says Dier will be asked for his version of events and is facing an FA charge after the altercation.
English football's governing body are looking into the events, and will initially wait on referee Paul Tierney's report to see if he witnessed what had happened.
They will speak to Spurs stewards and fans nearby for their observations
Spurs too have launched their own investigation and will conduct a thorough review of the incident. It is believed that they know who the perpetrator is.
Dier is almost certain to face a misconduct charge for leaving the pitch area, but that is unlikely to be all.
