Tottenham midfielder Eric Dier has hit out at the "crazy" spending of their Premier League rivals.
Dier believes familiarity has bred success in the navy blue and white half of north London – but doesn't see the same everywhere else.
He said: “When the big teams are doing badly people say they need to spend £200m to £300m – I just think that's crazy.
“They are looking at the wrong things if they think they need to spend that sort of money to change.
“It's down to working with the players you've got, getting the best out of them and building something.
“The culture you create at the training ground, the relationship between players – the atmosphere. There's 50 different factors.
“Of course, I understand one of them is signing players and I understand too there is always something better out there.
“But for me people use it as an excuse. It's easy to say: 'We'll just spend £100m and everything will be fine'.
“It's so far from it if you think that just spending money will resolve things."
