Tottenham matchwinner Juan Foyth admits he grew up idolising Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand.
Foyth struck for victory over Crystal Palace on Saturday.
"Rio Ferdinand," he said. “My idol when I was young was Kaka, but playing with friends, I always played centre-back and I'd say, 'I'm Rio Ferdinand'. But I don't know why.
“I was young, but I know he was an amazing centre-back. I'd play PlayStation and when I'd play with friends I'd say 'I'm Rio Ferdinand', but I don't remember the games."
Foyth continued: “I'm really, really happy. I was surprised, because I saw the ball there and in the first moment I thought I didn't arrive [on time] but I saw the ball there and I go, and scored.
“Since when I was a kid, my dream was playing in the Premier League, so I'm enjoying it.
“Last week was a strange feeling because it was my debut and I conceded two penalties. But the important thing was that we got the win and I tried to learn from that."
