Tottenham manager Pochettino: We laughed at Liverpool after loss!

Mauricio Pochettino says his Tottenham side were laughing at Liverpool, despite going 2-1 at Anfield on Sunday.

Spurs were unlucky not to walk away with all three points after taking over the game in the second-half.

Toby Alderweireld's late own-goal handed victory to Jurgen Klopp's side, but Pochettino and his players were not impressed with the league leaders.

"Overall I think we were better than Liverpool," said the Argentine.

"I am very disappointed but I am proud of the performance. In the second half we dominated and played much better than Liverpool . Today that was the arrogance I want to see from the team, playing that way.

"We were laughing a little bit that there was more than £100million in two midfielders on the bench in Fabinho and (Naby) Keita and you go and play better and dominate.

"Liverpool have an unbelievable quality. I am so happy in the way we dealt with the game. We need to be happy because that performance makes us believe we are in the right way.

"In football, sometimes you deserve to win, like us today and you don't win. My players are heroes an deserve a lot of credit whatever happens in the end of the season."
